Committee Member resource
Here is an overview of all the committees within UGA Miracle.
Business Relations works to raise funds for UGA Miracle through sponsorships, advertising and long-term partnerships with businesses. Service on this committee will include going to local businesses, engaging the community and fostering relationships. If you enjoy sharing your love of The Kids with others and like reaching out to others, we encourage you to apply! Meetings will be held on Wednesdays at 8 pm.
Community Outreach works with local Athens and Atlanta area schools to engage students in supporting our Miracle children. Through mini dance marathons, fun events, and interactions with Miracle children, Community Outreach seeks to champion our families, support our hospital, and engage our communities. Our meetings will be held on Tuesdays at 8!
The Family Relations committee exists for the purpose of maintaining and expanding the relationship between the families we benefit and UGA Miracle as an organization. From updating them on events to investing into the families at Dance Marathon, committee members provide emotional support through communication and participation in the Miracle families' lives. Structurally, committee members will be paired up to another member on the committee and be matched with their very own Miracle family to invest into and support. As a committee, we meet once a week on Wednesdays at 8pm to discuss how to better interact with our Miracle families, plan events to celebrate our Miracle kids, and to foster an inspiring and family environment within the committee that encourages individual growth and value.
Finance is responsible for counting and collecting monetary donations from both Letter Writing Campaigns and business sponsorships. Meetings will be held at the discretion of the Finance Director as well as the Finance Committee Leads and will typically be every other week, but will become more frequent as Dance Marathon approaches. During Dance Marathon members will be asked to rotate and aid the Finance Director. Accounting and Finance majors are encouraged to apply, though the committee is open to all majors. Meetings will be held Wednesday nights at 8.
The primary goal of the Fundraising Committee is to positively impact UGA Miracle’s end-of-the-year total in a huge way. Our committee puts on fundraising events throughout the year, works Stegeman Coliseum concessions, goes canning downtown, hosts percentage nights, and engages in many more fun, creative ways to raise money FOR THE KIDS! Meetings will be held every Wednesday night at 8:00.
Hospital Relations has the opportunity to serve Children's Healthcare of Atlanta directly by planning, organizing, and facilitating hospital visits and themed activities. Our committee will work each week to bring the excitement of UGA Miracle to the kids at Children's. We will meet once a week on Wednesday nights at 8 and our hospital visits will be twice a month on Sunday afternoons.
The Media Committee is for students who love to express their creativity and do the creative things they love for the kids. Members of the Media Committee will get have a huge role in the appearance of UGA Miracle from social media graphics to photography of events to fun, engaging videos to newsletters and magazine-type publications to advertisement materials and so on. All of these avenues are necessary for promoting UGA Miracle and directly responsible for helping make our organization successful. If you enjoy any of these things even the slightest bit, then Media is for you. Meetings will be held on Wednesdays at 8:00.
The Member Development committee is made up of creative, high energy, outgoing people. As a member of this committee you will play a crucial role in the creative development and execution of awareness days, promotional events and community events. We have the unique opportunity to show our campus why UGA Miracle is worth their time by being inviting and having a ton of fun. It is our goal as a committee to funnel our passion and energy in a way that makes the miracle experience desirable to potential members and ensure that current members are enjoying the full benefits of the Miracle family. Meetings will be held Wednesdays at 8!
Morale is the heartbeat of UGA Miracle throughout the year, especially at our 24-hour Dance Marathon! Morale has a large part in planning Dance Marathon, which includes leading a Color Group and facilitating Theme Hours, Color Group Wars, and Mail Call. One of our biggest and most fun responsibilities is choreographing and teaching the famous UGA Miracle dance! Outside of the Marathon, our responsibilities extend to developing relationships with team members, continuously building morale during meetings and special events, and just having fun! Meetings will be held every Monday at 8:30.
