Mission and Values
Together, our Mission & Values unify us as an organization. They guide our goals, decisions, and actions while providing us with a focus for UGA Miracle as a whole. Having our Mission and our Values clearly defined is a big asset to us, because if we are ever unsure regarding where to go next or if we disagree on a point of action, we can refer back to our Mission and Values to make a decision.
MISSION
Our three-part mission serves as the driving force of our organization. It gives us a purpose as to why we operate and do all that we do.
To Champion Our Families
Every year, UGA Miracle sponsors over 30 “Miracle Families” who, in one form or another, received treatment from Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. We give kindness and encouragement to each of them beyond their time in the hospital, as we know that the road to recovery is an ongoing process & we therefore want them to feel loved by our family of over 1,000.
To Support Our Hospital
We work very hard to provide support for the Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit (CIRU) at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. We do this monetarily, as all of the money we raise is given directly and exclusively to the rehabilitation unit, and personally, through the several trips we make to the hospital over the course of the year where we bring fun to the patients there right now.
To Engage Our Campus
We do everything in our power to create a community that everyone can’t help but be a part of. This truly means building relationships with every student, faculty person, and local business that we can and creating a unique & meaningful experience for each of those people so that they can feel empowered by our cause, just as we feel.
VALUES
We use our values as a the blueprint for how we go about implementing our Mission. In addition, they are what we stand for as an organization.
Integrity
In everything we do, we operate with integrity in the sense that if anyone were to see how we operate at any level of Miracle, they would approve. We look to be honest, transparent, and authentic throughout our organization in order to positively reflect the image of both Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and the University of Georgia
Excellence
In short, excellence within UGA Miracle means dreaming more than what others think is practical, expecting more than what others think is possible, and doing more than what others think is necessary. We do not do anything without our entire heart behind it and we never become complacent with where we are as an organization.
Compassion
We work compassionately, as we know how much each of our “Miracle Kids” have already struggled in their young lives, so we want to do everything we can to help make the next chapter of their lives the best it can be while not expecting anything in return.
Fun
We weave fun into every part of our organization, because we want to give our “Miracle Kids” every chance to forget about everything that might be going on in their lives and just be a kid for a day whether it be at our hospital visits, our Family Days, or Dance Marathon.
