Your Donation is making a difference, today!

Casper, a pet therapist, visits with a patient. One of the many free services provided by CHOA
By making a donation to UGA Miracle you are making a difference in the lives of hundreds of children. Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is one of the leading pediatric healthcare providers in the nation. UGA Miracle has developed a deep relationship with the hospitals that make up Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, which are Scottish Rite, Egleston, and Hughes Spalding.
UGA Miracle, in particular, works closely with the Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit (CIRU) at Scottish Rite. The CIRU is one of the many direct beneficiaries of UGA Miracle's efforts. In fact, UGA Miracle is the largest annual donor to the Rehabilitation and Orthopaedics department at Children's every year.
The CIRU is a place where kids of all ages go to relearn the skills needed to lead more normal lives. Whether learning to eat or to walk after a car accident, the CIRU provides the resources to accomplish these tasks.
Although UGA Miracle is specifically marked for the Rehabilitation and Orthopaedics at Children's, by donating to us you will also be helping the entire healthcare system. Children's Healthcare of Atlanta provides many services that you won't normally find in a hospital. Many of these services are not covered by insurance because they are family care and not specifically related to treatment. These child life services include programs such as pet therapy, featured in the above picture. Casper the dog has been an integral part of the hospital environment and many kids can't wait to visit with him again.
Because Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is a not for profit hospital, private donations are essential for its continued operation. The need is constant and as an organization we are doing everything we can to do our part. Children's Healthcare of Atlanta provides a staggering amount of unreimbursed healthcare to families no matter their ability to pay. This number reached $90,000,000 last year and is continually growing. With your help UGA Miracle and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta can continue to provide unparalleled pediatric healthcare in the state of Georgia and the Southeast.
