Bria Pearson was diagnosed with acute lymph node leukemia in 2003 at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Scottish Rite. She was diagnosed on the first day of fifth grade, and, as a result, was held back a year. She has an older sister and a younger brother. During her stay at Children’s, she made lifetime friends, some of whom were her nurses. Because her parents had two other children and jobs, they weren’t able to stay over night all the time, but the great nurses stepped in and made her stay at Children’s delightful. She can honestly say that if it wasn’t for Children’s and the grace of God, she doesn’t think she would be here today.
