Lainey was born with Spina Bifida. She had surgery when she was four hours old to close the hole in her spine. She spent 27 days in the NICU at Children’s Healthcare at Scottish Rite. She has had many surgeries and will have many more in her lifetime. She is dependent on a wheelchair for her mobility. Her life is full of doctors appointments with her neurosurgeon, orthopedic surgeon, urologist, neurologist, and many other specialists. She does therapy 3 times a week, including aquatic therapy and hippotherapy (horses). She has a shunt and two rods holding up her spine. She has to have the rods extended every six months. Lainey is a blessing to everyone who knows her and lights up the world around her. She loves swimming, playing ball, riding horses, and playing on her iPad. She has two big brothers, Whit and Ben, and she really loves UGA Miracle.
