Gianfranco Davila

Gianfranco was rushed to Scottish Rite Children's Hospital at birth where he spent 90 days in the Intensive Care Unit.  He was diagnosed with a minor stroke and vocal cord paralysis. Gianfranco's stroke might have caused a rare vocal cord paralysis that doesn't allow him to breathe through his nose or mouth. He breathes through a tracheostomy that was implanted on him at 5 days old. He has been seen at CHOA since then and continues his care at Children's Hospital Advanced Pediatric Center under the care of Dr. Popler in the Pulmonology Clinic. He has been a patient for 8 years.
