Markevein Burke

Markevein Burke was born on September the 4th 2014. We have been going to the Children's Hospital since he was 6 months old. The reason why we have been going to the hospital is because he has sickle cell and it is the worst sickle cell. We knew that Children's Hospital of Atlanta was the best hospital for him to go to because of his sickle cell. Markevein has been through a lot. He has been through surgeries such as getting his gallbladder removed because of his sickle cell. The Children's Hospital has been a great help with going through all of these surgeries and more through what he has endured. They have taught me a lot and they have been with him every step of the way and I really appreciate them. He also has to have blood transfusions due to his acute chest and that was one of the scariest moments that we have ever been in because he has seen death doors but with all the help that they've been giving him he has been doing great.
