Q: What does UGA® Miracle raise money for?

UGA® Miracle raises money for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, our local Children's Miracle Network hospital. We are proud that the first $1 million we raise will directly fund Rehabilitation Services and all additional funds will support the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center at Children’s. The money that we donate helps pay for things like new state-of-the-art equipment and care at the Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit (CIRU) and groundbreaking research and training in the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center. The CIRU provides a place for children to relearn skills necessary to maintain a normal life, from eating to walking again, and so much more. The Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders center is home to one of the largest clinical trial programs for childhood treatments in the country. Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is committed to giving every child equal access to treatment regardless of their financial situation, so they rely heavily on donations. With your help, we are able to assist Children's to work with patients with diverse conditions, from traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries to neurological diseases, cancer, and other impairments.

Q: What makes someone a Miracle Child?

A Miracle Child is someone who was treated at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta! Some of our amazing Miracle children are still undergoing treatment at Children's, and others have already been helped by Children's to get back on their feet. And don't forget, once a Miracle Child, always a Miracle Child!

If your child has been treated at Children's and you are interested in being a Miracle Family, please email us! ugafamilyrelations@gmail.com

Q: How many Miracle Families do we have?

Currently, over 60 families are a part of our UGA® Miracle family!

Q: What kinds of events do you host?

We have a ton of events happening all throughout the year like Braves for the Brave, a Parents Weekend Gala, Family Days, and more! Check out our Upcoming Events page to see what's coming up! All of our fundraising events lead up to our exciting event in February, Dance Marathon!

Q: What is Dance Marathon?

Dance Marathon is our most important event! Held in February, DM is the culmination of all our fundraising efforts throughout the school year. Our entire organization comes together with our Miracle Families in the Tate Student Center for 26.2 straight hours of celebrating everything that we've done for our miracle champions. We have food, activities, sponsor booths, and lots of performances by bands, student organizations, and Miracle Families! Interested in signing up for Dance Marathon? Click Here!

Q: Do I have to be in UGA® Miracle to attend events?

Nope! Everyone is welcome to attend our events. However, we encourage everyone to join our UGA® Miracle family!

Q: Can I still join UGA® Miracle if I'm not part of Greek Life?

Of course! UGA® Miracle is open to all current students at the University of Georgia. Our relationship with the Greek Life is strong because we have been around for over 20 years, and as a result, we are the official philanthropy of Greek Life at UGA®. This doesn't mean that you can't join if you're not Greek! Grab some friends from your hall, some old high school buddies, or members of your youth group and create a team if you like! All are welcome.

Q: Is it too late to register for Dance Marathon?

It's never too late! Our registration website is open until the day of Dance Marathon. Register early to take part in the special benefits of being a member of UGA® Miracle!

Q: Who runs UGA® Miracle?

UGA® Miracle is the largest entirely student-run organization on campus, and one of the largest in the Southeast. Our Executive Board, Leadership Team, and our Committees are in charge of the daily workings of our organization.

Q: How can I reach my fundraising goal?

We ask all registered team members to try to raise $500. This may seem like a daunting task, but with our help and some creativity you'll quickly meet and exceed your goal. Try some of the ideas below or ask someone who has been in Miracle before for some ideas!

A great way to raise money is to link your DonorDrive Fundraising page to Facebook! Another easy way to raise money is to hold a treats stand and sell items like lemonade or cookies. Some members donate a portion of their paychecks as well to their DonorDrive pages!

Q: How can someone donate to my total?

When you sign up to be a member of UGA® Miracle, you get two things: your ticket to Dance Marathon, and your own personal Donor Drive! Your Donor Drive is the primary way in which you will collect donations. After setting up your page and fundraising goal, you can share the link to it with anyone you are asking for a donation from! From this page, you can track your progress towards your goal and see who has donated to you! UGA® Miracle can also accept checks by mail. Checks should be made out to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, and have your name written legibly on the memo line. Checks should be sent to the following address:

UGA Miracle Office
ATTN: Personal Donation
153 Tate Student Center
Athens, GA 30602
